Bio – this to go to separate page

Having spent many years working in business, technology and delivering IT services on top of Open Source platforms, in 2006 Alan jointly founded Libertus Solutions to help businesses exploit the benefits that Open Source Software has now been proven to deliver.

After successfully completing a four year Electronic Engineering apprenticeship with the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence Alan Lord began his career with one of the early pioneers of the data communications industry; a Canadian company called Gandalf. He began in field service and moved through various roles including sales, consulting and marketing. In 1995 he joined ACC (Advanced Computer Communications), a Californian start-up Internet equipment manufacturer, to establish and head-up the marketing department for EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), helping to successfully shorten the sales-cycle for their Enterprise, Carrier and Indirect-channel prospects & customers.

After several years of close collaboration, ACC was acquired by Ericsson in 1998. Post acquisition, Alan became Strategic Business Development Director for EMEA, primarily working with the region’s major fixed & wireless telecommunication operators, assisting them with the planning and migration from circuit to packet switched (IP) technologies.

Since leaving Ericsson in 2001, Alan has had his own businesses including jointly developing several on-line/technology related ventures.
